Style Your Bookshelves
Bookshelves aren’t just for holding books anymore. They’re the perfect place to display everything from photographs and houseplants to pottery and collectibles. An easy way to make your living room or home office feel fresh and contemporary is to thoughtfully style your bookshelves. Start by emptying your bookshelf completely. Then, position your large decorations on the shelves in a zig-zag pattern, starting with the top right corner and alternating back and forth. Next, fill in with books, being intentional about how you position them. Placing some in horizontal groups and others in vertical stacks is sure to give your bookshelves a fresh, interesting vibe. While it may be tempting to fill every inch of empty space with books and accessories, leave a bit of empty space for cleaner and simpler looking results.
